Simon
Newman
Mr. Newman founded Cornerstone in 1995. He has
over 20 years experience as a CEO, entrepreneur and executive.
Recently, he took some time away from Cornerstone to start
TradeYard, an online exchange for the sale of used heavy equipment.
Prior to founding TradeYard, Mr. Newman built Cornerstone as an
advisory and investment company with clients that included Liberty
Digital, Allen & Company, SBC, Hyundai, Universal
Studios/Polygram and Viacom. Cornerstone also performed turnaround
work for several under-performing businesses units. Prior to
founding Cornerstone he worked at Bain & Co where he helped
start their LBO/Private Equity practice, and before that he worked
at LEK Consulting and the investment banking firm of Wasserstein
Perella where he managed a blue-chip client base including Time
Warner, MCA, Blockbuster, US West, Pacific Bell, Walt Disney,
Granada and TRW Information Services. Before moving to America in
1987 he was Director of Operations and CFO for FilmNet, a European
pay-TV company. Mr. Newman has a BA with honors and an MA in Natural
Sciences from Cambridge University, and an MBA from Stanford
Graduate School of Business.

Bret
Masterson
Mr. Masterson has more than 20 years
experience as a consultant and executive. Prior to joining
Cornerstone, he worked at L.E.K. Consulting where he handled most of
the company's media, entertainment and technology clients. Mr.
Masterson's major clients included several of the major studios,
broadcasting and cable networks, and theme park operators as well as
several major private equity investors. He was also one of the
leading experts in the firm's Shareholder Value Management practice,
which focuses holistically on how to align all divisions, corporate
processes, performance measurement, and compensation with the
objectives of shareholders. Before joining L.E.K., Mr. Masterson worked
for the World Bank and led an effort to revitalize growth in
Mozambique and Malawi, including a turnaround of the Malawi's
largest industrial concern. He has also worked at McKinsey and
Company as an associate and as a product manager for the textile
group of Mitsubishi International. Mr. Masterson has a BA (Summa Cum
Laude) in International Studies from the University of Washington
and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Roy Kim
Roy has over 18 years experience as an operations, finance and management expert specializing in mergers and acquisitions, profitability improvement, and asset sales for premier venture capital companies, public companies, creditors and various manufacturers. Roy has worked with venture firms including Redpoint Ventures, Insight Capital, and Redleaf Venture Management in the capacities of CEO, President, COO, and CFO for companies in diverse businesses such as entertainment, education, e-commerce, internet security, electronic components, and clothing manufacturers. As a senior executive at Sherwood Partners, Roy was involved in over 20 turnaround, wind downs, and restructuring projects. Recently, as COO of Fandom, Inc., Roy successfully sold the company and the assets. Previously, Roy was a key member of the senior executive team that raised $31 million in venture capital and corporate investment for RedCreek Communications, increased annual revenue from $35 million to $100 million in two years through mergers and acquisitions for Quarterdeck Office Systems, and managed operations resulting in cost reduction and increased revenue for several Internet start-up and expansion companies. Prior to Quarterdeck, Roy was the COO and in charge of the turnaround of U.S. Magnetics Corporation, a manufacturer of magnetic tape heads, including the first production DLT single crystal ferrite heads. Roy was also a technology attorney at Cooley Godward and Fenwick & West, and a research and development engineer for Hewlett Packard. Roy received his law degree from the NYU School of Law, where he was an editor on the Journal of International Law and Politics. He received his BS in Computer Science from UC Santa Barbara.

Ferey
Faridian
Dr. Faridian has more than 20 years
experience as a high-technology CEO, venture capitalist, investment
banker and corporate strategist. Prior to joining Cornerstone, he
was CEO of a California high-technology venture backed company and
previously, a venture partner and West Coast representative of the
BV Group, a $1 billion Fund of Funds and one of its portfolio
investments, Cornerstone Ventures, a $100 million Venture Capital
Fund. He joined BV from a Merchant bank, Digital Coast Partners (now
Montgomery & Company), where he served as vice president. Dr.
Faridian began his career in Europe, as an Assistant Professor at
University College, London and moved to high-technology
manufacturing at Schlumberger Industries in London before joining
Scientific Generics, a leading European technology, business and
venture group in Cambridge. Dr. Faridian’s multi-industry and
international assignments have included ADI, Boeing, British
Aerospace, British Gas, BNF, British Telecom, Elopak, Erwin Sick,
Esselte, General Dynamics, Hughes, Oras, Philips, Royal Aircraft
Establishment, Schlumberger, Scottish Power, Sonoco, Sprint, Swiss
Industrial Group, Thorn EMI, UKAEA, UK Department of Trade &
Industry, UK Department of Transport, Vickers, Williams, Zumtobel. A
senior member of the IEEE, Dr. Faridian holds a PhD in EE/Applied
Physics from London University and an MBA from Cambridge University.

Dana Miyoshi
Dana Miyoshi has more than 20 years of experience working in the government, private, and non-profit sectors. Most recently Dana worked for L.E.K. Consulting as Manager of West Coast Operations, where among his many duties, he was in charge of human resources and recruiting for the West Coast offices. Prior to L.E.K. Consulting, Dana worked at Huntington Holdings, a private investment bank, where he held an NASD Series 24 license (FinOp). He helped found the Electronic Commerce and Advanced Technology (eCAT) division of the Universal Music Group and transitioned the division into Universal eLabs, which is responsible for business affairs, research and development, and strategic planning of digital initiatives. Prior to UMG, he worked in the Corporate Development group of Universal Studios, where he focused on the PolyGram merger and subsequent integration, creating the largest global music company. Before Universal, he spent time in the development department of The Anti-Defamation League and completed his first stint with L.E.K. Consulting. Dana started his career in the U.S. Navy, where he spent 10 years making several deployments to the Persian Gulf.
